Terrace of the Elephants

The Elephant terrace is part of the walls of the city of Angkor Thom, the ruined temple complex in Cambodia. The Terrace was used by the king of Angkor Dzhayavarmanom VII as a platform from which he looked for a procession returning victorious army. It was attached to the palace Pimenakas, which left only a few ruins. Most of the original structure of the terrace was made of organic materials and has long been destroyed. All that we are now witnessing is the basic platform of the terrace.

Banteay Srei

Banteay Srei (Banteay Srey) is one of the most unusual temples of Angkor. It is located 20 km north-east of the main group of temples and 38 kilometers from Siem Ripa. Banteay Srei is built of red sandstone and is decorated with carvings. The buildings of the temples are very tiny compared to other churches that have made him extremely popular among tourists, and it is sometimes called the "jewel" or "jewel of Khmer art".

Ta Prohm Temple

Ta Prohm was built in the style of the Bayon temple in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. Ta Prohm is located to the east of Angkor Thom. The temple was built by King Dzhayavarmanom VII as a Buddhist monastery and university. Unlike most other temples of Angkor, Ta Prohm has remained in the same condition in which it was found: a simply photogenic atmosphere of the trees growing out of the ruins and surrounding jungle have done it one of the most popular temples of Angkor to the visitors.
