Norodom Sihanouk (b. 31/10/1922, Phnom Penh), Prince, statesman and political figure in Cambodia. In 1941, became king of Cambodia. After the proclamation by the success of the national liberation movement of the country's independence abdicated in favor of his father (1955) and participated actively in political life. They were established in 1955, political organization People's Socialist Community (Sangkum Reastr Niyyum; acronym - Sangkum). Repeatedly served as chairman of the Council of Ministers of Cambodia.

Carrying out his policy of peace and neutrality, the development of friendly relations with socialist countries, a number of progressive social and economic activities inside the country have increased the credibility of SN in a coup d'état of right-wing forces in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, supported by imperialism from abroad 18 March 1970 during SN trips abroad, he was forced to remain in exile.
