Short Title 1

Cambodia holds the most famous and magnificent monument of the ancient Cambodia culture. Angkor (ancient capital of the Khmer state, the ninth century.) Consist of a single complex of ornate temples and palaces, the most perfect in comparison with other architectural ensembles of Southeast Asia. The remains of Angkor occupy an area of about 200 square meters. km. Results are saved nearly 100 palaces and temples. In 1992, Angkor was taken under the auspices of UNESCO.

The temple of Angkor Wat ( " the temple city"), built in the days of King Suryavarman II (1112-1152 gg.) And dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. This is the largest religious buildings in the world (area about 2 square. Kms.). The temple is a complex three tier design with lots of stairs and passages. Crowned with five towers of the temple one in the center and four at the edges. The central tower rises above the ground at 65 meters and symbolizes the mythical Mount Meru, which is the center of the world.

Short Title 2

Phnom Bakheng one of the first temples built in Angkor. Its construction is attributed to the time of King Yasovarmana I (889-910 gg.). The temple is a five-storied building with many towers and steps, leading upwards. Angkor Thom (Big City)  citadel of the city, its central part, built in the time of Jayavarman VII (1181-1210 gg.) Once in 1181 Angkor was taken and plundered chamami. Ankgor-Thom is surrounded by a moat, a width of 100 yards, and a wall height of about 8 meters, which forms a square with sides about 3 km. The wall has five gates, above which rises the tower about 23 meters, decorated with faces Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.

Another majestic monument  Bayon temple with its giant stone statues of Buddha. Afar Bayon looks like a bizarre conglomeration of huge stones, but as they approached him all the more clearly feel the extraordinary beauty of the building. Bayon is a three-level building, with the base 140 to 160 m. The central tower rises to a height of 45 meters above the ground. Bayon is decorated with another 52 square tower, situated at different levels and having different heights on each side of these towers is depicted person Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, and so that wherever you are, these people "look" at you.
