What is Sihanoukville ?
Sihanoukville (Sihanouk ville) ciity port.
Sihanoukville is the main resort town of Cambodia and holds the only port in the country located on the south-west of the capital Phnom Penh. It is a modern town with a population of no more than 100,000 people surrounded by white sand beaches with coconut palms and virtually untouched islands. The town is popular with affluent Khmers, employees of foreign companies and embassies for the weekend and holidays. There are several views on the development of the city, on the one hand and cultural and other entertainment, but as it was not there, the city's development occurs in space velocity.
Short Title 2Sea currents in the port area and at the cape of Sihanoukville enclose the main beaches around the industrial zone. About 3-4 km north of the city center is the railway station and the port from where ships depart for Koh Kong (the southernmost border crossing with Thailand). Most tourists prefer the beaches in the south bay. We recommend you to visit all the beaches of the city and decide for yourself what is the best.
