Sisophon
Sisophon (Sisomhon) the capital of Banteay Meanchey Province a charming and quiet town. Like many other cities in the distant past it many times had changed hands between Thailand and Cambodia. After the fall of the Khmer Rouge, Banteay Meanchey Province and Sisophon were rapidly restore its economy and culture.
Short Title 2Sisophon is known as a central transportation hub in the northwestern region of Cambodia, through Sisophon runs almost all the traffic following from Thailand and Cambodia. Tour buses also stop in Sisophon to rest. If you want, you can stop for a day and visit several pagodas and climb the observation tower remaining from the war time.
Short Title 3To the east of Sisophon, at a distance of 10-15 km, following the national highway number 6, you can reach the village of Roch (Rohal) which specializes in making sculptures, where you can buy one of them, or visit the ruins of Banteay Chhmar (Banteay Chhmar) , who is called the brother of the temple Bayon of Angkor.
