Palin overview
Pailin (Pailin) a province in western Cambodia, is located on the northern edge of the mountains Kravan. Palin on one side it borders with Thailand and on the other side it is surrounded by the province of Battambang. Until 2001 Pailin was part of Battambang province, but it was then elevated to city status under the central government and on the 22nd of December 2008 a decree from King Sihamoni Narodoma Palin singled out a separate province.
This is one of the smallest provinces, which covers an area of 803 square kilometers. Pailin City is located in the foothills of Chuor Phnom, the highest point of 1,164 meters. In the province Pailin several small rivers that descend from the mountain ridges. The population of the province of about 70 thousand people, half of whom live in the city of Pailin.
